Captured over a period of three years, The Beehive Poets depicts a group of poets with a passionate, committed and spirited compulsion to express themselves through the medium of verse. It also records the last years of a fine and rare example of an Edwardian gas-lit pub, The New Beehive Inn on Westgate in Bradford, now sadly lost to the world. The poets, however, continue on and hold monthly meetings at The Josef K Cafe.
Through a crowdfunding campaign, this project will soon be turned into a book featuring many of the photos seen below and also sections of poetry from the many and varied poets who have patronised this unique and iconic place.
